The close-knit and once prosperous, now decaying town of Eldritch, Missouri copes with modernity and change in the early 1960s following the murder of the town hermit, Skelly Manor.

Join Larry Singer Studios ONStage for this 50th anniversary presentation of Lanford Wilson's nostalgic drama The Rimers of Eldritch.  The play was first produced in 1966 at La Mamma Experimental Theater Club in New York City.  It later ran Off Broadway for 32 performances at The Cherry Lane Theater and was adapted for television in 1972 as part of the first season of PBS's now acclaimed Great Performances series.  Wilson's rich writing paints a colorful and dynamic community  struggling to preserve its way of life in this cleverly structured drama.  Though now decades old,  the play's themes of environmentalism, social equalities and the transformation of the American dream still resonate today.
